Funtastic staff, diners and environment! The coffee is SOoo good! The bread is better than what I've been served at the well known restaraunts. My order was perfection, sorry I ploughed right in and took a pic when I was almost finished!

The country style steak was really good and the portions are plentiful. Prices are decent. Service was fast and friendly.

Today my daughter and I decided to eat breakfast at this restaurant. It was different . the hospitality was great. The service was. Great. Jessica was our sweet waitress. The portions are huge and the cost was above reasonable. A guest was being picked up by his wife after he had eaten and he had problems and they went out to help him. Thank you to the people making the food also.

We went for Sunday breakfast. It was delicious!!They were really busy and short a waitress. But the food was cooked exactly as ordered and yummy!! Coffee was hot too! It is a good family restaurant. It isn’t fancy but it is very clean. We will certainly let be back.

Low cost and great place for breakfast in Roanoke.

First time visiting and had breakfast. Biscuits and gravy with homefries, pretty good and service was not bad either. Will return to try some of the sandwiches I witnessed go bye.

Dogwood Restaurant was a quaint place to eat. It is not very big and somewhat noisy but the food is great. I had a vegetable plate and almost couldn't eat it all. Would return another time.

This place has a great breakfast as well as lunch and dinner. At breakfast, I really like their potato cakes and my wife loves the blueberry stuffed french toast. For lunch and dinner they have daily specials with delicious home cooked vegetables. I have never had a bad meal here.

Waitress stayed on top of our requests and the food was great.

Five stars because its local, simple and the service is great. If you want to eat with the locals then go here. Menu is limited but that's the point in a place like this. Good value for the money. I will say that the potatoe cakes they serve with some of their meals is outstanding. I sincerely mean that. It's very good. If you're in the area check it out. Always good to shop/eat local.

Fabulous food and service was amazing,considering every seat was filled. Portions generous, hot and flavorful. I think we have found a new regular place for us.

I already knew their macaroni salad was awesome, but the mac n cheese! Club sandwich is so big you can't get it all in your mouth. Awesome food.Our server left a lot to be desired. Had to share my drink because we never could get her attention and she never checked on us. Had to ask for napkins, a box, our check... That food though... worth a trip.

Waitress was nice . Service was terrible. By far the worst dining experience ever. My first and last visit.

I love going here with my 3 yo daughter for breakfast. The burgers are good at lunch.

Good food friendly folks

It’s a great place, but make sure if you are craving biscuits and gravy that they actually have biscuits left or sausage gravy left. 2 separate times I’ve visited and they were out of one or the other. Not sure why these are so difficult to keep stocked?

Great down home place in a touristy downtown location. Parking seems to be street only. Had breakfast there. Good fast attentive service. Menu is good down home eats, served quickly. Looks like it seats maybe 40 or 50. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff. Pancakes were large and fluffy and delicious. Portion size good. A little more expensive than most local country places by a couple dollars per check. Large breakfast for 2 was $22 including extra sides. Didn't need to eat again til dinner time tho.

Local, simple, great service and extraordinary food! We had previously visited for lunch and it was amazing. Today we came for breakfast. Their Dogwood Omelet is the best omelet I have ever had. Its huge and filled with ingredients that are falling out because there is so much of it. The sausage gravy and biscuit was out of this world. I am also giving this 5 stars due to the staff being so kind and caring of a customer who was no longer in the restaurant or on their property but he was having a hard time getting to his vehicle and fell down outside, customers and employees gathered together to get this man in his vehicle. My faith in humanity has been restored and this was a beautiful start to a possibly rainy and trying day.

Food was good & great service..

Far below expectations. We got there around 11am and I was hoping to order lunch, but was told that lunch couldn't be served yet. This is understandable, but there should be some note made regarding when the switch to lunch may occur (folks tried ordering lunch at 11:30 and were still denied). The food was alright, but certainly nothing special. A coffee was ordered with the food but was never brought to the table...an offer was made to bring coffee once we had finished most of our food which was useless. The french toast was a mere two pieces of thin bread (not much per most standards). Also, toast was supposed to be brought with one of the meals, but it was not brought until I asked once the waitress finally made her way to our table.

I ate here with my brothers family which live in the area. I can totally understand why the locals love it. They were greeting their regular customers by name! Their down-home customer service is much appreciated and makes you feel welcome. But it also helps that they serve up awesome food as well. We ate there for breakfast, and the "omelette" that I ordered was fantastic; although it's more like an egg scramble with stuff in it, as it's not served like a traditional omelette. The waitress warned me of this before hand, which was much appreciated.

Expensive. 2.19 for a small coffee. Old building desperately in need of remodel and paint job, home made potato chips would be good in new clean grease

The dogwood restaurant is delicious!! A must go to for wonderful high quality food and service. Very evenly priced and fresh ingredients. Must try is their stuffed french toast stuffed with fresh cream cheese and big blueberries garnished off with fresh sliced strawberries and more blueberries, dusted with powdered sugar and with fresh butter. Bring your appetite though as this is a large portion. They also have homemade strawberry preserves served with their biscuits and toast. It is a wonderful little establishment and a must go to for breakfast and lunch. Lunch is equally just as on point. Next time you're shopping or enjoying downtown Vinton please give them a try you won't regret it.

Food and service were great. Best cheeseburger around.

First time here, started off kind of rocky from the beginning, we were asked to sit at a dirty table with dishes on it. Sat there nearly 10 minutes before it was cleared and wiped down. Environment very noisy. Had to ask for a coffee refill 3 times as the waitress wasn't very attentive. 40 minutes to get food, it was hot and pretty good but nothing to write home about. While waiting I read similar reviews so I know it's not just me!

The food was fantastic. The stuffed French toast is great but it is 100% share size! My wife is very picky about her eggs and she said they were cooked perfectly. The home fries were delicious as well! Great breakfast spot in Roanoke area.
